Wedding and Reception at Deer Creek Country Club
Posted: Feb 21, 2012
On Saturday February 18th, 2012 I played for a wedding at the Deer Creek Country Club for Christine and Buck Maupin. Over 100 friends and family members witnessed the ceremony which took place on the patio with a picturesque view of the waterfall as a back drop. I might add that mother nature blessed this couple with a beautiful day for an outdoor ceremony. The bridal party walked to "Canon in D" by the O'Neil Brothers and Christine walked to "Four Seasons Winter" by Vivaldi. Once they sealed their vows with a kiss, the recessional was appropriately "Beautiful Day" by U2. For the cocktail reception which was held outside, I played a mix of adult contemporary tunes from Basia, George Michael, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Michael Buble, Jack Johnson and others. Guests enjoyed the view and the music while engaged in conversation. Then it was time for the introductions of the bridal party and the choice of song was " La La La" by LMFAO. Christine and Buck chose "One Thousand Years" by Christina Perri for their first dance and then it was the lighting of the Unity Candle and a few toasts before a sit down dinner. Between the salad and main course I presented the father/daughter dance, "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill and the mother/son dance. "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Then I turned it up and the dance party began. Christine & Buck provided me with a modern dance music play list which I mixed in with some disco classics and some retro tunes from the 80's and 90's. The energy in the room was festive and the dance floor never emptied. I want to say I was impressed at how much Buck & Christine loved to dance!. Later they cut their cake to "Love Story" by Taylor Swift and the garter/bouquet ceremony was done to "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls. I also wanted to thank Eileen (M.O.B.) for her hospitality and compliments regarding my First Class services! We ended the night with "Dirty Bit / Time Of My Life" by B.E.P. and this group still wanted to dance! Congrats and thank you to Christine & Buck for making me a part of their special day!....DJ/MC Eddie B!
